Player of the game:
- Dane "Johnny on the Spot" Sanzenbacher. Who knew?
Most exciting play:
- Arkansas, facing a 5 point deficit, blocked the Buckeye punt with less than two minutes left in the game.
Most anticlimactic follow up to the most exciting play:
- Mallet throws a game ending interception two players after the blocked punt.
Observations:
- Terrelle Pryor's raw potential: Sky high.
- Terrelle Pryor's football fundamentals: Non-existent.
- Sloppy defense. A true clinic on how NOT to tackle.
- Those 'suspended' (I would have preferred air quotes) Buckeye players really made a difference in the outcome of the game.
Seriously, I think that Jabba the Hut has skin that is tighter and more polished than Pryor's football intangibles. Sure, he has speed and athleticism (two things you just can't coach), but the little things are just not there yet. See the fumble on his first quarter run. Tuck the ball in! And somehow, he still manages to win football games and score touchdowns. Kudos for completing at least one 5 yard out route though. At least he is improving there.
Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha. Translation: Have you now, ha, ha.
And in case you didn't know, there was another quarterback playing in this game. Ryan Mallet. That's about all I have to say on that. He played pretty well, but never really seemed to settle down, and it didn't help that is receivers weren't doing him any favors. Clutch catches are to the Arkansas wide-outs what fundamentals are to Pryor. Kryptonite.
Get ready for an off-season battle between Ohio State and the SEC about who is better. If you stumble across such an argument, you might want to make sure that you have some alcohol handy to ease the pain. That and lots of Pepto-Bismol.
Oh well, at least we know that Kellen Moore would have made all the plays the other quarterbacks didn't. The Dork Assassin (shout out to OBNUG) always tucks the ball in.
Oh Jabba the Hut, you never get old.
ReplyDeleteand just as a p.s.... Folks in Arkansas really like Mallet.
